An uncommonly progressive hymnal

Aaron sent me this sweet hymnal he found in California to add to my collection. It’s from 1878 (which, by the way, is only 28 years after California became a state). Wow. Thanks, Aaron! But if you look closely at this particular hymnal (click on the picture for a larger version), you’ll notice something unusual about it. I think it was a prototype. Maybe Apple really is taking over the world. They’re even taking over our jeans now—click here for proof. And okay, I admit there was a minor amount of photoshopping involved.

And a little Watts from the hymnal to end the post:

Come the great day, the glorious hour,
When earth shall feel his saving power,
All nations fear his name:
Then shall the race of men confess
The beauty of his holiness,
His saving grace proclaim.
