We got a cat from the Tails humane society in DeKalb. She looks like this:

The only problem is, we’re not sure what to name her. Any suggestions?
The folks at Tails named her Laverne, which is cool… if you’re someone’s great-grandma. But it’s decidedly uncool for a cat.
I want to call her Froofaraw. Sharon is not yet convinced. It was inspired by the word “foofaraw”, which m-w.com defines as: 1) “frills and flashy finery”, or 2) “a disturbance or to-do over a trifle”. She fits both of these definitions, plus I like the nickname possibilities (Froof, Froofy, Froofles, Foo, and Froofadoof are a few that have come up so far).
So if you have any ideas on what to name Froofaraw, I’m sure Sharon would like to hear them. ;)

your cat looks like the humane society put several other cats into a blender. I think you should call her “patches”.
Dude, that is so true. You just made both of us laugh out loud.
How about “Doggie?”
That is sad, because now I cannot come over. I am deathly allergic to cats.
That would be one confused cat. That gets points for irony, though.
We can close her downstairs when you come over, and we’ll vacuum everything for ya. Are you actually deathly allergic?
Wow!! You guys are parents!! That’s huge!
Congrats. I like Froofy, definitely. What prompted such a big step? haha. ;)
We, personally, are still reeling from the birthday tune that you left us…I told Steve that you said you rehearsed. He commented that you must’ve because to be that out of tune on so many notes in the same song required much rehearsal. I, on the other hand, thought it was fabulous. Thanks for the cards and thoughts and tunes…ya’ll are the best!!
Froof Mason…I mean, you have to admit, it has a ring!!
Your mom told me check out the newest member of your fam! I can’t tell you how it warms my heart that it’s a cat!!! I love dogs but A CAT!!!! Tristan, I’m so proud!
Froof-a-doof should probably be her pedigree name to go on all the official paper work but I think Taxi is a great nick-name.
I think you should name her Allegra
Because that’s what I’ll be taking when we come to visit.
How about “Late for Dinner?”
Lips that feline shall never touch mine, but to each their own.
Well, the cat looks kind of exotic–like a puzzle piece, mysterious. Some names that come to mind are Jada, chanel (pronounce SHU-nell), sabrina, and dahlia. I’ll keep thinkin….
